Microsoft Windows RT price cuts don’t stop the death spiral | SemiAccurate

April 7, 2013

I have to agree with Authir on this one. Microsoft has no chance of winning the tablet war staying this course. Surface tablet could have been a true iPad & Android competitor if the company: 1. Released one OS and not RT and RT pro. This might work in the PC era but not tablets 2. Designed the tablet to pentrate and take advantage of their installed base by providing Office & Outlook as a bundle. 3. Create OS that uses less memory resources yet Windows compatible 4. The keyboard could have been part of the tablet and not extra Doing so consumers who are used to Windows would find transition and learning curve to this tablet much easier than Apple or Android. Corporate ITs would enjoy the seemless integration of the tablet with rest of their system and security. Microsoft could then demand the $500 price tag and sell Surface in the millions. Otherwise RIP Surface under a sea of better equiped tablets.
