SpringHill Suites Marriorr – Alexandria, VA

Entering the property

Address: 2950 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA. Ph# 703-317-0013

Since this is a new property the GPS will send you few building before! SpringHill Suites didn’t invest in good signs to direct you to it. That said, if you know the hotel and brand logo it’s easy to find it, if someone doesn’t know it (like my coworker) then you might get turned around.

The hotel has an outside and inside garage, the entrance is different, you normally expect to see reception desk when you enter this one you see stairs or elevator to 1^st floor. The design is retro.

Once you enter: Lobby very open, clean and reception desk more of islands to support the customers. There were plenty of chairs and tables with comfortable seats all over to lounge, few TVs scattered in the lobby to catch up on news or sports. There were outlets everywhere for those “plugged-in” group

Staff response: Staff was friendly, but didn’t seem they would go the extra mile.

Room:

Room: Was super clean and you can smell the newness of the place

Desk: Up to date with both wired and wireless internet

Bed: Bed very comfortable and pillow you can chose from soft to hard one J

TV: 36″ LG Flat TV, with all various channels to enjoy

Internet speed: Slow. Speedtest.net gave me 0.47 Mbps for download and 1MB upload (surprised me upload faster!).

Lighting: Very good lighting in the room

Bathroom:

The new design of SpringHill Suites, you get two bathrooms, one that has the toilet with a sink and the other bathtub with a sink. Both were very clean. There was also a walk in closet a first for me in this kind of a chain.

Breakfast Area:

The usual breakfast you get, Oatmeal, Eggs, Yogurt, bread, milk, juices, Coffee….if you wanting a Waffle you won’t find it here. But you can have your coffee and enjoy 3 different news papers. Wall Street Journal, USA Today or Washington Post.

 Exercise & Pool Area:

No Pool at this place L

The gym was good, you can choose between 3 treadmills, 2 elliptical, 2 bikes with various weights. TVs were at Cardio equipments.

 
 

 Overall:

I will stay there again. Hotel is only 6.5 miles from airport, 13 miles to DC and 2 miles to downtown Alexandria VA to pick from various restaurants. Oh one more thing, don’t worry that hotel is close to highway, you do not hear the cars J
