Layla’s Lebanese Restaurant – Alexandria, VA
907 King Street
Alexandria, VA 22314-3018
This is my third time visiting this place. If you are looking for family restaurant with a touch of class you got Layla. The Dad greets you and seats his customers, his daughter works as the server and his wife is the cook.
The seating isn’t big, as soon as you enter; you see the bar with about 12 seats. They have 7 tables for 2 at this area then in the back it’s a bit more formal seating.
They do make you feel at home when you are dinning alone without being over bearing on you.
The Menu isn’t as extensive as other Middle Eastern restaurants I have been to, but then again if you got this right why add more to it! Their Fatoush salad is good if you like lots of lemon on it like I do, beware though it comes with lots of red onion so don’t be expecting to eat this and hold a conversation with a customer J
The Appetizer Platter gives you sample of Humus, Babganouj, Tabloui, 2 Grape Leaves, 3 Falfels, 2 Spinach pies. All is good except the Spinach Pie I wish they toast it and not “nuke” it. I want the baked taste which I do not get when you microwave the pie L
Beef Shawarma plate — it comes with Rice (just like how mama used to make), plate might be good with salad or yogurt.
I will sure be back.
