JW Marriot San Antonio

May 30, 2011

Date Stay: May 22 – 27, 2011

Entering the property

From the entrance of the property to the actual building is about a mile, the road is not all green, but it looks like they are working on it. The staff of this JW Marriott makes you feel at home without being overly friendly; they know the limits of when it is too friendly.

This resort had it all, 36 holes PGA Golf course, Spa to relax and do some R&R, Outdoor pools for adults and kids with water slides and lazy river and an impressive convention center. This is the reason I was there in the first place for our sales meeting….

Even-though this is a resort, the room still enabled us to stay connected and conduct our business. The bed and pillows made you sleep like a baby and of course being at JW Marriott in the evening you had your bed turn and chocolate on pillow. Can’t forget about the great view I had from my 7th floor overlooking the greens and the nice balcony.

Large bathroom with bathtub and a shower to have your pick from.

Since I was there for our sales meeting our breakfast & Lunch was served at the convention center, but even then the variety of fresh fruits and normal breakfast items, service staff kept a brisk of every table needs without missing a beat. The sport bar has a unique design of projecting TV on the walls of the bar, was interesting watch games on it. Food was nothing to write home about at this sport restaurant.

Exercise & Pool Area:

Top notch….. treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, and various weight lifting machines. Let us not forget the entertainment “center” on the machines, not only a TV but a system to connect your Ipod to it!

Staff in General:

A++ that’s all I can say about that.

Would be so nice to visit this property for leisure and experience the treatment first hand without being tied to a conference. What I thought weird thought that the Lazy River they have closes at 7pm and the restaurant/bar at the pool area closes at 6pm…what’s up with that? Word of wisdom, rent a car since it will be cheaper if you plan to go downtown. The hotel doesn’t provide a shuttle to/from airport nor do they provide a shuttle to downtown. Taxi Cab to hotel will run you $38 without a tip and $60 from hotel to river walk that’s $120 round trip for that night.
